My Favorite Highway is one of my favorite local bands. They were recently signed to Virgin Records and in the past few months have rereleased their first full-length album "How To Call A Bluff" on the label as well as a music video for their single "Say So." The band is even beginning to get some radio play. If you go to their official website you can get a free mp3 to sample the fantastic pop rock sound of this band.Recent Posts

All Time Low is another familiar Maryland band. Forming out of Timonium, MD, this quartet recently released their third studio album and are now touring with Warped Tour and through the fall. The band has a raw pop-punk sound that is enjoyable to listen to no matter what you might be in the mood to listen to.
You'll love All Time Low if you love The Maine, Every Avenue or Hit the Lights.

I wanted to kick this off with a band that I am sure you are all familiar with. O.A.R. is from Rockville, MD and have been playing together since 1996 with the addition of Jerry DePizzo in 2000. Six studio albums and four live albums later the band is still going strong. The band has sold over 1.2 million albums. Their music is a fusion of rock and reggae that is catchy and infectious. The band is on tour through the month of August, including a hometown show at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD on August 7th.Sunday, August 2, 2009

I also maintain the blog Turn Yourself On and wanted to start a blog for local music in the DC area, from Richmond, VA to all of MD. There's a lot of great music that comes out of the DC area and I want to focus in on it in this blog.
